Reliever Justin Duchscherer avoided arbitration, agreeing to a one-year deal Wednesday with the Oakland Athletics. The right-hander missed most of last season with a strained right hip but was an All-Star in 2005, going 7-4 with a 2.21 ERA in 65 games. Duchscherer was one of four arbitration-eligible players on the Oakland roster, along with starters Joe Blanton and Chad Gaudin and reliever Huston...
