Is Richard Gasquet overrated?
I've been watching him since 2005 when he beat Roger Federer in his prime! His backhand is fanastic and he is so smart on court but; is Richard overrated? He doesn't seem to bring out his best a lot and he seems to be very streaky. What do you guys think? |

He has won some important tournaments , but yes, I wouldn't say he'd be my first choice when Djokivoc, Nadal, or Federrer are also participating alongside. He seems to have had a good run , but it's been a fluctuating curve for him so far as I can see it. With more competition coming in every year , he'd either have to fasten up his seat belt or resign to moving out of the top 10.

I cannot say that he has been overrated. But his performance speaks volume of him. so we cannot neglect him so easily. With the arrival of new pool of talent not only Richard, also the other players like Nadal, Roger will have to pull up their socks and perform well. This has been proved by the recent loses. |

Ah well, I was making that comment about Rickard Ganquet , not Federrer , but yeah, even Federrer has been down in the dumps , his latest loss being against Mardy Fish. Not sure if he might think of changing his coach with so many losses haunting him. Gansuet though, I a good player , but probably not in the same league as Federrer , Nadal or Novak.
