there is a new breed of celtic pride in boston but are they as good as the 60's - 80's celtics?

they must get some new player like pioneers in the NBA so they can keep up with the playoffs i hopr the can make it to the finals too..

Well they don't compare just yet because of the fact that the other players of the Celtics dynasty were able to win championships. Im not saying that KG, Ray, and Paul can't win it, its just that they have to actually start winning some before they can get compared to the previous Celtic dynasties.

Of course they do not compare yet. They are a young team who are just now getting into what is it like to play together. I think they will over time be an outstanding and contending team.

Well they are not old but I wouldn't say young either. The big three have been in the league for a while and once you hit 30 your time will go by even quicker and you start feeling the effect of the league more. They are a contending team now, they just need to keep plating they way they are playing and learn from their mistakes.

I don't think any dynasty will hold up to the sensation that was the Chicago Bulls for a long time

They might be as good as the former Celtics, but I'm not sure that they will be remembered as well. For one thing, they haven't won a title yet. Also they haven't been around as long. The longer a dynasty is past, nowaways, the more that we are reminded of them. This is how legends grow. Finally, I'm not sure that these guys aren't playing at a time when the NBA is as well respected. In those days, players like Bill Russel, Kasey Jones, Sam Jones, and John Havlicek were respected and revered. I don't know if we can say the same thing about Garnett, Allen, and Pierce.

The Celtics, so far this season, are performing extremely well. However there cannot be any comparison until they win a NBA Championship. This is the most talented team the Celts have seen since the Larry Bird era. They have the talent, its just whether they can make it to end.

Great point leighdu. Winning a championship is what makes a team great. It doesn't matter how many regular season games you win, if you can't win the final one. Take a look at the Patriots for instance.
