Another baseball season is underway in what was a mixed day. The highly anticipated, "FINAL" opening day game between the Yankees and the Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium was rained out. Rookie Kosuke Fukudome went 3 for 3, including a 3 run HR in a losing effort for the Cubs, who are in their 100th year anniversary since the last time they won the World Series. Johan Santana looked impressive in his Mets debut. Jake Peavy and Brad Penny look like NL CY Young candidates early on. Newly acquired Miguel Cabrera has good opening day in his Tigers debut.

There were many stories on this 2008 Opening Day. Hope everyones favorite team took the field and won. May the season ahead bring lots of great action. Hope everyone enjoys the 2008 MLB season. May all your fantasy players be studs and not duds.

Opening Day this year seemed for some reason to be uneventful. It's more or less due to the steroids issue. However, fans of game will go out, and once the good teams position themselves, it will be a fine season.

As a side note, even though it seemingly started slow, I like how teams that no one though would do well, are starting the season and playing lights out. I think it can be a season where amazing things can happen.
