This is the longest name I have found of a cricketer. This guy is from Sri Lanka.

I used to think that the longest name for a cricketer is that of the Srilankan cricket team's present captain Mahela Jayawardene. His name is Denagamage Proboth Mahela de Silva Jayawardene , but seems like he got beaten to the prize by Welegedara .They have pretty long names.Don't know if anyone can successfully remember the names.

Guys this is funny. I was not aware that Jayawardhane has got such a long name. Hope so most of the SL players have got similar names.

Yeah , even VVS Laxman has a pretty complicated name , that's why most commentators around the world refer to him as VVS or just Laxman.From what I hear , those cricketers have the name of their place of birth and that of their grandfather added to their names. That's why they have such humongous names.
