Smile 20-20 v/s 50/50

What do you think will 20/20 matches take the place of 50/50 matches? Will people lose interest from 50 over matches because of 20/20 matches?

I think it has to be 50-50 as here you have a better chance to make a comeback and better strategies can be applied here unlike 20-20 which is just about hitting out.

Though it might show the way of transformation but people will never lose the craze for 50-50 games. They are the test of talents and will always be on the top.Though 20-20 brings entertainment to all people with the game getting over in 3 hours with full of non stop splash and blash by the batsman it will not take the place of the one dayers.People might look into 20-20 more and they know the difference in between one dayers and 20-20.Hence it will not pose a great threat.

T20 might be required to promote interest in markets such as North and South America, China, Russia, Central Europe etc.

In this format, experience counts for little, and the smaller nations have a greater chance of competing against the bigger ones.

I do not think that 20 20 will dethrone the ODI version of the game. They will coexist, with more ODI's being played, at least in the next decade or two.

T20 is best way to promote Cricket around the world but some people still like 50-50 matches and Test matches. I also like T20 because in this type of format we can's guess any results.

I heard that Australia want to start Day Night test matches.

20-20 matches are more interesting and enthusiastic than the traditional 50 over matches. 20 – 20 is a quick game and every ball is important in this game and that is people watch the whole match with great interest.

Yes people will start losing interest in 50 overs game!! Unless test matches and 50 over games get a little aggressive, I think T20 is going to dominate!! The players also feel bored to play longer versions of the game!!

u cant compare both forms of cricket.... actually all 3 available forms of cricket are different from each other... so u cant compare them and they can not replace each other.... as 50 over game did not replace test matchs twenty 20 will also not replace but will be enjoyed as a different ball game....

You're right that 20-20 is very exciting game but I don't think so that it will take place of 50-50 in future. Instead of replacing, we would see 1 or 2 T20 matches in the tour. 20-20 is good because it takes less amount of time to complete but it also increases the possibility of injuries.
