All the England's superstars failed when they mattered most, They missed easy chances in match and then penalties against portugal. Gerrard, Lampard, Crouch all were pathetic.

England could not get past Portugal because David Beckham was sitting on the bench due to injury!! Erickson's boys lacked the leadership qualities and inspiration during the second half with the injury of becks! England should start playing the game without depending on him!

I am not agree with that. There is not only because of Becham. This is the whole team problem. Sometimes I am also dont know why they cant make it. Actually they already got great player in this team. Thats why what I always said is luck is not on their side. This team just need a bit of luck which could change their destiny.

If only one player is responsible for team's performance then that team does'nt deserve to
be called a team. England's defeat was due to lack in performance of whole team.

performance is very important..they must be one team to make a win..penetration is the most important..

Sitting on the bench we see things that they might not see, if we were in the game and had to make decisions about which way to go and where to shoot the ball then we too might make mistakes and miss shots we should have gotten. Or at least what others think we should have gotten.

the superstars are maybe they are just planning for a play or just making the people a little nervous..

I would say that it was a hard luck for England in this world cup. They couldn’t perform well when their performance was needed the most. Unfortunately all the best players of England failed.

Actually all player in their team we can called as star player except the goalkeeper. But we cant blame the their goalkeeper only. whole team need to take responsibility for the result. This is not one man job that is teamwork so anything happen we need to ask the team including the Manager.

Though England have a star studded line up, they were low in motivation. They did not play as a team and were not up to the best of their abilities.
