What do you guys think? Sports and politics should be separated or linked? Should the Olympic torch relay skip Tibet now?
For me I am two minds of about it; ultimately the main losers are the sportsman and woman. |

For people who view China as oppressive, it makes sense to boycott. However, it seems that it will not preclude most countries to boycott, and the main reason is economics, which makes sense due to China being a major exporter of goods to many countries. It just will not have much support.

I think that olympics should not be boycotted. Because for every sportsman and athelete, olympics would have been the dream run. So no one has the rights to deluge that. I think that various economic sanctions and political relationships can be imposed heavily

At no moment of time these two seprate issues should be intermingled.Politics is the dirtiest game of politicians, they should keep it away from comman man's life.It is always personal motive of a party for which they try to exploit interests of genral public. So lets all wish China a safe holding of 2008 Olympics.

Is it really possible to separate sports from politics? It is funny that now there are attempts to separate the Beijing Games into 3 parts: the torch relay, opening ceremony and the actual games.
Drawing lines in the sand? |

One the one hand I would love to seperate sports from politics but I think that's not possible. Boycotting the games would be unfair to the athletes who have been preparing for years.

well i feel that sports should stay far away from politics.Olympics is a very great thing for the sportsmen and if it is boycotted then its really unfair.

I agree with saurabh_batra1. The athletes have been preparing themselves for years and want to show what they can. So it would be unfair to hinder them.
