Ferguson And McGregor In Hot Seat For V-sign
Just last Wednesday, both Barry Ferguson and teammate Allan McGregor were dropped from the team’s World Cup qualifier against Iceland after staying up late drinking at the team hotel right after a defeat to the Netherlands. But now the pair is under fire for doing the V-sign while on the sidelines during that game.
Rangers manager Walter Smith confirmed that the pair is now suspended from the club and Ferguson stripped of his captaincy due to the unprofessional behavior they showed which were even photographed by reporters. They will not be able to play for Sunday’s game against Falkirk.
David Weir is the new Ranger’s captain and said this about his teammates, “Obviously, I’m pleased to be captain. But Barry and Allan missing the game on Sunday is a big loss for us.”
The pair was sent home during training and set to meet Rangers chief executive Martin Bain later in the day to know what their fate would be in the coming days.
