Ferrari Might Quit F1
Ferrari has threatened to leave Formula One if FIA continues to push through with the planned £40 million budget cap that could encourage new teams to participate. Toyota and Red Bull has also signified their intention to pull out if the new rule is implemented.
Ferrari released this statement, “If the regulations adopted for 2010 will not change, then Ferrari does not intend to enter its cars in the next Formula One World Championship.”
This iconic team has been with F1 since the first race in 1950, they are the most famous and successful racing team with millions of fans across the globe.
FIA head Max Mosley said, “The sport could survive without Ferrari. It would be very, very sad to lose Ferrari. It is the Italian national team.” They have set a deadline until May 29 for the teams to submit entries and decide whether they want a budget cap or not in the coming 2010 F1 Championship.
