Chaminda Vaas Denies Retirement Reports

Chaminda Vaas, the Sri Lankan left-arm pacer, has reportedly denied his retirement plans. Earlier, news reports quoted Asantha de Mel, chief selector of Sri Lanka, as saying, that the pacer had retired from Test cricket.

While contacted for reaction, the pacer stated that he had not made any such decision yet, stated the reports. The pacer also denied the news of having spoken to chief selector or even the other selectors, as well, on this matter.

Earlier, reports spread quoting de Mel, as saying, that Chaminda had told him that he did not want to play Test cricket anymore. The reports quoted de Mel further, as saying, that the pacer would continue in the shorter formats.

Vaas began the journey of his test cricket against Pakistan at Kandy in 1994.
