Agbeko decisions Darchinyan
Joseph Agbeko shuts down Vic Darchinyan dream of holding multiple titles in different weight classes. Agbeko kept scoring with right hands and opened up cuts above Darchinyan eyes.
Two judges had it 114-113 for Joseph Agbeko and the third judge had it 116-111 also for Agbeko. The bout had an undisputed knockdown.
It was obvious that Darchinyan pushed Agbeko but the referee scored a knockdown for Darchinyan. The Armenian Darchinyan admitted after the fight that he had to wrong strategy going into the fight.
Darchinyan kept going for the one knockout punch but Agbeko was the bigger and stronger fighter. He now has two losses on his record. The other loss was to Nonito Donaire. He has yet to achieve revenge.
The loss has brought the arrogant talking Vic Darchinyan back to earth.
