Fielder wins Home Run Derby

Milwaukee Brewers’ slugger Prince Fielder won the Home Run derby on Monday night in St. Louis. He beat hometown favorite St. Louis Cardinals Albert Pujols.

In the finals Fielder was up against Texas Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz. Pujols was knocked out in the second round. The home run derby was to be a personal showcase for Albert Pujols but Fielder stole the show.

Yahoo! Sports reported: “I knew what to expect this time so I was a little more relaxed,” Prince Fielder said. “I think it’s very competitive. I don’t think (any) of the guys would be here if they weren’t. But it’s fun at the same time.”

Albert Pujols leads the majors in home runs with 32 home runs. He received an applause after flying out in the second round. He thanked them for their support.
