Hatton vs Khan not likely
A blockbuster showdown between Brits Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan has been shot down by promoter Frank Warren. After Amir Khan won the WBA title many fans were hoping to see them meet in the ring.
‘Ricky shouldn’t be fighting—it’s not good for boxing and it’s not good for him more importantly,’ Warren said on Sunday. ‘He’s just been in hospital for overindulgence or whatever that may be.’
Trainer Freddie Roach has been credited with the great improvement of Khan’s defense. Khan’s lone loss was against Breidis Prescott. He lost in 54 seconds due to knock out.
Hatton’s last foray in the ring was devastating. He was brutally knocked out by Manny Pacquiao in round two of their fight.
‘I don’t think he should fight again, he should definitely retire. If the fight happened and, God forbidden, something bad happens, everyone would blame boxing. Sometimes fighters go on and at the end of the day bad things happen.’
